Alarms on Macan & Taycan EVs

Special Configuration Required for Macan and Taycan EVs

Updated over a week ago

Certain Porsche electric vehicle models require a custom configuration to operate correctly with Fleetlane telematic devices. In particular, we’ve identified that Porsche Macan EV and Porsche Taycan models may trigger false alarm and high-voltage alerts if used with the default device settings.

To ensure proper operation and avoid unnecessary notifications, a specific configuration must be applied to any telematic device installed in these vehicles.

Affected Vehicles

  • Porsche Macan EV

  • Porsche Taycan

Issue Overview

Without this configuration:

  • False alarm events may be triggered during normal operation.

  • Spurious high voltage warnings may appear due to how the vehicles manage power systems during idle or charging states.

These issues do not indicate a problem with the vehicle or the telematic device but result from compatibility nuances in EV power systems.

Required Action

If you are onboarding or managing any of the above vehicles:

  1. Do not proceed with default provisioning.

  2. Contact the Fleetlane Support or Operations team and request the EV-specific configuration for Macan or Taycan.

  3. Our team will remotely apply the appropriate settings to ensure compatibility and suppress false alerts.

This step is mandatory to ensure accurate tracking and alert behavior for these models.

Need Assistance?
