We’re excited to announce that Geofencing is now available in Fleetlane! This powerful new feature gives fleet managers greater control over vehicle movement, improves accountability, and helps enforce location-based policies with ease.
What is Geofencing?
Geofencing allows you to create virtual boundaries around specific geographic areas—such as your dealership, service zones, or restricted areas. When a vehicle enters or exits a defined geofence, Fleetlane automatically logs the event and can notify your team in real time.
What You Can Do with Geofencing
Create custom geofences to monitor important zones like return areas, storage lots, or test drive boundaries
Define rules for each geofence, such as alerting only on exits or entries
View geofencing events directly on the vehicle detail page for clear historical context
See violations in agreements, making it easier to spot when a vehicle was returned outside of authorized areas
Receive email alerts when geofence rules are triggered—stay informed, even when you’re not logged in
Why It Matters
Whether you’re managing a busy rental operation or simply want better control over vehicle whereabouts, geofencing helps you:
Reduce unauthorized vehicle usage
Track returns and check-ins more precisely
Add an extra layer of operational security
