What are User Permissions?

This article goes over the differences between the different user roles and their permissions.

Updated this week

Fleetlane offers a set of predefined user roles to help you manage access and responsibilities across your team. Each role has a specific set of permissions that determine what a user can and cannot do within the application.

User

The User role allows access to all features required for daily operations, with some restrictions.

Permissions:

  • Can view and manage most areas of the application

  • Cannot add, edit, or remove user accounts

Admin

The Admin role provides full access to the platform.

Permissions:

  • Can perform all actions, including managing user accounts

  • Intended for team members who require unrestricted access

Viewer (Planner Only)

The Viewer role is restricted to read-only access, specifically for the Planner module.

Permissions:

  • Can view the Planner, when available

  • Cannot access or modify any other part of the application

Driver

The Driver role is designed for team members involved in valet or vehicle movement operations.

Permissions:

  • Has access to the Valet section

  • Cannot access administrative, planning, or reporting features

Coordinator

The Coordinator role is similar to the User role, with one key restriction.

Permissions:

  • Can perform all actions available to the User role

  • Cannot add new vehicles to the system

  • Cannot manage user accounts

Administrators can assign or update roles at any time through the Team Settings page. For further assistance, please refer to the Team Management documentation or contact our support team.
