Streamline appointments with the new Customer Self Check-In feature

Learn about Fleetlane’s customer self check-in feature that can help you streamline the process of collecting customer information.

Updated this week

Customers can now begin the check-in process for appointments using their mobile devices, helping to streamline the process of collecting and entering their customer information. Using the new customer self check-in feature, you can send a link to customers so they can enter information for their reservations, such as their insurance and driver's license information, which can reduce time spent at the counter with the customer.

Note - This feature is only available to accounts on the Pro or Pro Plus plan.

How to Send a Link to a Customer

With this enhancement, advisors can use the new Request Customer Check-In window to send a customer a link in an Email message or an SMS text message. To access the Request Customer Check-In window, access the customer's Agreement view, and then click the new Request Customer Check-In button.

To send a link to the customer, simply select the check box corresponding to the method to use to send the link, verify the contact information transferred automatically from the customer's Agreement view is accurate, and click the Send Now button. The Request Customer Check-In window closes, and the link is sent to the customer as an Email message or text message.

Customer Self Check-In Process

When the customer clicks the link in the Email message or text message, the Rental Agreement Self Check-In window displays in a new browser tab. The customer can then simply click the Get Started button to display the forms where his personal information can be entered. Once submitted, the data is automatically updated in the agreement.

Customers must provide information in the following sections.

  • Personal Information. The customer enters personal information in this section, such as name, phone number, and address.

  • Driver's License Information. The customer enters driver's license information in this section, such as license number, province or state, and expiration date.

  • Insurance Details. The customer enters insurance information in this section, such as name of the insurer, policy number, and expiration date.
